Music and Personality- Part.1(A)

Introduction-

As of late, I’m quite keen on psychology . My current subject of interest is Music and Personality, I would like to attain my own psychological theory and study about it.

Many studies show that music is an integral part of our lives. It can portray our personalities to an extent that it can show exactly who we are. Every song has a message, a story and a specific meaning, whether you realise it or not. Now my question to the viewers who read this post is, what type of music do you like and why? And how does it make you feel?

The songs of our youth, heard a thousand times, fill our brains with catchy lyrics and compelling rhythms, creating a perspective for the way we see, hear, and understand the world from then on out. And while some may have a less conscious, more of an open-minded approach, others may usually draw boundaries between the music they accept and the music they deny – and in addition, the people associated with those musical cultures, as well.

Also check out my survey about music&personality! Once I collect your results I will do a post about my own theory on your personality.

Anime Addict

Have you ever thought of why anime is so addicting?

Only several months ago I thought anime was ridiculous and boring, but then something changed. I was scrolling through Netflix to then come across Your Lie In April– a Japanese cartoon displaying this image:

I hadn’t thought much of it at first, but then my eyes latched onto the violin, causing me to feel an urge to read the blurb. If you haven’t yet seen my About me page (GO CHECK IT OUT), then you’d know I’m a steadily progressing violinist.

The blurb from the cartoon intrigued me, cajoling me to watch the first episode. The storyline was so heart-gripping that it was a must for me to watch even more. The manga series and the movie were both brilliant and inspirational. [If you like sad, romantic and adolescent stories I would recommend this anime to you]  This unordinary/extraordinary cartoon ticked all the boxes to nearly make me cry- which is surprising, because I do not cry when watching movies, accept from when I watched Titanic and Lion king.

However, if you’re not into -what some may say- ”compassionate stuff’‘, then there’s epic action, horror and supernatural animes, which will keep you gazing at the screens for hours on end. Anime has a lot of subgenres in general- to whatever suits the individual. But what is it that is causing millions of people globally to like anime so much? Why is it that some viewers say ”anime is life” and even do cosplay dress up?

The answer is simple yet complex. Anime is usually built up from an amazing manga, which is brought to life via a TV series or a film. Many are either infatuated with the arts and dedication of each mangakas efforts, or is undoubtedly sucked into the fantasy of it all. Many anime fans say it’s like a drug, because of how powerful each story is. Not everyone will like it at first, but it’s very likely that you’ll enjoy it in time. And not everyone will like each storyline, but there is a story for everyone. As humans we instinctively use emotions to express ourselves. Nowadays we also like to try out new and different things. Anime is different and is always fresh, unlike some of the western cartoons that has very similar storylines.

Attribution, Share alike and Creative commons

Today I am writing about attribution, share alike and creative commons.

Attribution is when you screenshot or copied someone else’s picture online, but you have to feature their username or account. For example, if I took a screenshot of a friend’s picture on instagram and posted it on my own account, I would need to feature that post with their username, or else I could be accused for stealing that post. In many cases you could be taken for court for copy right.

When you save an image on Google you should initially go with an image with a trade/water mark, because those images show that the creator has allowed the world to use and share that image, without permission. For this though, the creator would need to have a copy right licence in order for you to use their image without their direct permission. If the creator had made the image that he/she did not want to be sold, you then cannot borrow the image and sell it. If you break those morals you can be taken to court for copy right. This is called share alike.

Creative commons is when you can take another persons image, but renew the image (re-editing). Through this licence this allows you to take a creator’s image and do things with it, like share and change the image.
